We all know that the real estate market is very hot these days and there are endless choices of brokerages and agents with whom you could work with. As a result, it’s a clear truth that everyone “knows a Realtor®” and if you don’t, you can bet one of your friends or family members does.
Whether you’re buying or selling a home, what’s most important to know about working with a Realtor® is this: they should be professional, experienced, and have your best interests at heart. What this really means for you is less headaches, competent representation, and a trusted advisor to walk you through the entire process.
What’s even more important to consider when working with a Realtor® is how much they’re truly obsessed with their work and the neighborhoods they focus on. This ‘fanatical obsession’ is more commonly seen with
boutique brokerages and agents.
So in the world of real estate, we believe that bigger is not always better. Here are some of our thoughts on this.
When it comes to marketing, one size does not fit all.
Marketing is everything when selling a property! It goes back to our belief that sales and marketing go hand-in-hand, and that wide exposure is the most important factor. The more eyeballs on your home will significantly increase the speed and ultimate sales price that can be achieved.
Being well connected in a locale is also accretive to this process, and something we pride ourselves in. We have personally and professionally been in the local market for over 30 years and we are passionate about creating exemplary results for our clients.
Our point is this: every single agent in South Florida has access to very similar digital marketing and traditional marketing methods, but not every single agent can say they leverage their local connections, relationships, and mastery of the area as a huge marketing tool in transacting real estate. It really is true: it’s all in who you know.
Larger brokerages garner less personalization.
We’re just going to say it out loud: when you work with corporate or franchise brokerages, you’re quite often looked at as a production number. Your home is “just another listing” to be “put through the system” and as a result, there can be less personalization involved in the process of getting your home sold or in finding you the perfect home to buy.
Listen, we are big fans of standard operating procedures when it comes to listing a home the protocols handed to new agents when they first join these larger brokerages. We know what boxes to check, how to market a home, so on and so forth. But each home requires unique marketing strategies – not canned ones that come from the corporate marketing department in Milwaukee or Portland. The proper marketing and sale of your home should not be a “rinse and repeat” strategy as this is not a one-size-fits-all process.
Smaller brokerages possess more character, more agility, and the ability to be more creative.
When agents within a brokerage aren’t controlled by ‘one look and feel,’ they have more freedom to be more uniquely unique. At Freebird, we pride ourselves on letting our agents brand themselves in whatever way they want because this allows them to attract their unique tribe of clients and work with them in the way THEY are most comfortable (with plenty of oversight, guidance, and support from the main office).
At the end of the day, we understand it may feel overwhelming to transact in real estate whether you are buying, selling, or renting and you need to feel that you are in REALLY good hands and have chosen the right real estate professional to work with.
That’s why Freebird, emphasizes that we really want to take the pressure off this process for you. We match you with the perfect-fit-for-you agent and we treat every client and transaction as if it were our money, our property, our life investment. And truth be told, we really enjoy guiding our clients through this process, removing as many hurdles and obstacles as possible, and injecting some fun into it as well.
